"Beg, beg," he said, "I like that in a woman."

"Bastard," she said, "go ahead, kill me'n be damned."

"Ohhh, feisty. I like that in a woman too. Here we are, dear."

She looked forward to the subway entrance, and pulled back. He came up with something hard, hammering her in the back of the neck, almost knocking her senseless. A guy across the street saw what was going on, and he came rushing to her rescue. The priest stood squarely, holding tight to her wrist as she reeled, and pulling out a revolver, pointing it at the would-be savior, and firing. The silencer muffled the shot and sprawled the man out on his back in the middle of the street. Others backed off, disappearing.
